Jorge’s rendition of “Raíces del Festejo” (Festejo’s Roots), is the album’s only cover song. Peruvian composer Pepe Vásquez wrote the song as a tribute to his father, Don Porfirio Vásquez, the patriarch of one of the most prominent Afro-Peruvian musical families. "Y ahora lo canto yo", "Now it’s my turn to sing it", say the lyrics, referring to the concurrent theme of acting upon our calling. The festejo is part of Jorge’s folklore and musical identity. Jorge based the arrangement on guitarist Yuri Juarez’s version, because of its dazzling reharmonizations and beautiful counter melodies.
